Miami Headshot Photographer

Looking for a Miami headshot photographer? This is a session I did that exemplifies the type of headshot and portrait photography I take for business professionals. We meet at an outdoor location to take photos that are natural and professional. There are no studio lights involved, just the natural light from the sun. Depending on the location we agree upon, I will advise the best time to take photos in terms of lighting.

I am a Miami headshot photographer that takes portraits away from the white background studio setting, and moves it to a real-life location. The natural background not only makes for a better and more interesting photograph, it also allows you to feel more comfortable your environment.

After you find a Miami headshot photogapher that’s right for you, the next step is to choose the location and then your clothing.

Location

First you need to determine what you want to convey in your photographs. If you just need a simple headshot for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, a business card or website, you have several options. We can go to a park or urban location, whichever you prefer. I blur the background considerably using a wide aperture. This ensures that the focus remains on you and not the background.

This headshot was taken at South Pointe Park. Notice the natural, yet blurred background.

For the portraits I took for Stiers Law, he decided to go to Wynwood. He was looking for something urban, different real. Not the typical stoic, stodgy lawyer photos you see taken indoors, studio lit, against a sterile bookshelf. He wanted something more genuine and relatable.

These two portraits were taken in the Wynwood district. The background provides a nice contrast to his professional business attire.

Pool Paddle Fit portrait

Sometimes you want the location to be based upon your profession. It highlights what you do and what you are offering to your client. In this case, we met at a Key Biscayne hotel. Since her company is Pool Paddle Fit, here she is on her paddle in the pool: in a real environment that demonstrates what she does.

What to wear

First off, you want to dress in a professional attire. Unless of course, your company is about pool fitness, in which case you’ll wear more appropriately fitting attire. Professional can mean a suit and tie for men, or even just a well fitted, ironed top. It really depends on how you want to come across: more casual and relaxed or more formal and dressy.

The color of your clothes in something you want to think about as well. What colors tend to suit you best? Do you prefer bold colors or neutral colors? The bottom line is that you want to wear an outfit that you feel great in, that represents you and the image you want to convey.
